Crystallin’s Connection Challenge
The people you know (even those who are closest to you), are very likely to be close with people you don’t know at all.
Among those people could be your next bestie, a new romance, a collaborator, or a person who connects you to yet another person who could be any or all of these things.
After all, isn’t “a friend of a friend” a great way to meet someone?
Truth is, it only takes a few close connections to feel rich in love, connection, and belonging in life.
So I’m Challenging YOU to reach out to at LEAST three people in your world, asking them to connect you to someone in theirs.
This is a chance to push past your comfort zone, leap into the unknown, and place yourself right in the path of synchronicity.
And I’ve made it rrrreeeeeeaaaaaaalll easy for y’all :)
The First Step
Choose either the CONNECT or DATE template and email it to at LEAST three people who know you pretty well (this will probably feel quite vulnerable - thus the challenge!). A clear, simple, and specific request makes it so much easier for people to help you - and helping feels good! Plus, I reckon most of us could use some practice at asking for what we would like in life.
In the email, you’ll also include the template I created for THEM to use, making it even easier for them to establish this new connection. They’ll be guided to include one, simple sentence about why they’re connecting you to provide a jumping-off point for your future conversation.
The Second Step
Once you hear back, reach out to schedule a time to connect with your new person (safely, of course!)
I’m also giving you the list of MCS’s (Meaningful Conversation Starters) I created and used at my past events, just to give you every possible opportunity to have an authentic and worthwhile conversation. Find them here.
The Templates
Use the CONNECT template if you’re open to being connected with whomever your friends would choose for you, for whatever reason.
Use the DATE template if you’re more interested in sharing first zoom-dates with friends-of-friends at this time.
Of course, you’re welcome to mix & match, add & subtract, or edit in whatever way you want!
Just copy/paste into an email, and be sure to fill in the blanks!
CONNECT Template
Email Subject: Crystallin's Connection Challenge Hello [Friend]! I’m participating in Crystallin’s Connection Challenge, and I need your help. The challenge is to reach out to three friends and ask each one to connect me with just ONE person that I don't know yet, someone they think I would enjoy sharing a conversation with. To make it easier for you, Crystallin made a template you can use to connect the two of us. Just copy/paste it into an email, and it will guide you to include a sentence about what inspired you to connect us. If it helps to spark ideas about things we might have in common, here's a reminder of the things I'm most passionate about [insert info here]. Lastly, if for any reason fulfilling this request isn’t right for you right now, that’s ok too :) Happy holidays! [Me] PS. If you’re curious, you can find out more about the Connection Challenge here: crystallindillon.com/cccIf you're up for it, here’s the template you can use to connect us!
Email Subject: Crystallin's Connection Challenge Hello [Friend 1] and [Friend 2]! You are receiving this email because I know both of you, and I think it’s about time you knew each other :) I think you would (at very least) enjoy a fun and engaging conversation because [something you love about each person that you think the other would also appreciate; something they have in common (shared passions/hobbies/backgrounds/professions/etc); something you think they’d find fascinating about each other; anything you think will help spark their conversation!] The inspiration behind all this is Crystallin’s Connection Challenge, and now we’re all links in the chain that’s spreading all over the Bay Area (and by now, possibly the world!). And to further facilitate the sparking authentic, worthwhile conversations, she’s also offering you the same MCS's (Meaningful Conversation Starters) she created and used at real, live, pre-covid gatherings. You can find those here: crystallindillon.com/mcs Wishing you both a happy holiday season! [Me] PS. If you like, you can find out more about the Connection Challenge here: crystallindillon.com/ccc

The challenge is to reach out to three friends, asking each one to connect me with ONE person they think I would enjoy sharing a first zoom-date with.
